Description

Man and Sin is an introductory study of the biblical doctrines of the origin and nature of man and of the problem of sin and its effects. These subjects will be approached from a biblical, systematic, and, to a lesser extent, historical perspective. Emphasis will be given to the biblical interpretation of evangelical Christians, but this position will be understood against the backdrop of predominant non-Christian worldviews.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course, you should be able to: 1. Summarize biblical teaching concerning the origin and nature of man. 2. Explain and refute non-biblical views concerning the nature and origin of man. 3. State basic principles of the biblical doctrine of sin. 4. Discuss and refute non-biblical theories concerning sin. 5. Answer common questions on such subjects as the relationship of sin and demonic activities, the unpardonable sin, and degrees of sin. 6. Distinguish clearly between Christian and non-Christian views of man and sin. 7. Appreciate the practical implications of the doctrine that man was created in God’s image. 8. Describe the destinies of restored man and rebellious man. 9. Determine to live in such as way that you will reflect the image of God more and more and be able to turn others to him before it is too late.
