Description
s course is an introductory study of Islam, including its beliefs, practices, and present status as a world
religion. It offers practical guidelines for effective Christian witness to Muslims. Special emphasis is
placed on intercessory prayer and the role of the Holy Spirit in the process of conversion and
discipleship.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:
1.
Define the basic vocabulary necessary for evangelizing Muslims.
2.
Describe the essential points of Islamic history, culture, and theology.
3.
Describe the main obstacles Muslims must overcome to gain an accurate understanding of Jesus
Christ and the gospel message.
4.
Relate to Muslims as fellow human beings whom Christ loves and died for.
5.
Realize that Muslims can be brought into the kingdom of God through love, understanding, and
the power of the Holy Spirit.
6.
Use practical methods for witnessing to Muslims, both in word and in deed.
7.
Recognize more clearly the dynamic role of the Holy Spirit in preparing the hearts of Muslims to
receive God’s gift of salvation.
