Description
This course is a biblical study of the missionary task of the church. It focuses on world evangelism and
discipleship. Emphasis is on the lost condition of mankind and God’s plan of redemption. The church is
presented as the agency God uses to accomplish worldwide missions purposes. The student is
introduced to the spiritual resources available to the church for this task. Biblical illustrations focus on
the church’s involvement in missions as well as on individual involvement that emphasizes
commitment and responsibility.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:
1.
State clearly the meaning of man’s lost condition and how missions relates to this biblical truth.
2.
Describe the attitude of God toward the entire world of lost humanity.
3.
Summarize the biblical basis for a worldwide missions program.
4.
State the biblical meaning of the church and its relationship to missions.
5.
Identify and describe the spiritual resources that enable the church to fulfill its mission.
6.
Describe the concept of “Jesus the missionary” and give examples of the apostles’ exemplary
missionary work.
7.
Identify and explain the responsibilities of the local church in worldwide missions activity.
8.
Plan and present an adequate missions program for the local church.
